 and Wednesday Mfg..

Message from Dwindle:

For a long while Dwindle has wanted to contribute to Boardtesting.com. We have finally submitted a few decks from our

2005 product line and we feel that these decks are going to be very successful in the months ahead. We first released our

Darkstar ARMOR PLY decks in Sept 04 and they are now one of the the favorite decks among the innovators of street

riding. The Armor Ply  is a reinforced 8 ply construction that includes a one layer of the highest quality carbon fiber  laminates

in the world. This CF layer extends through 88% of the length and over 50% of the width, making it very stiff and extremely

responsive. It is impossible to to completely break an ARMOR PLY into 2 separate pieces during a single skate maneuver.

The newest addition to the Dwindle deck family is the Resin Series, which  uses 100% epoxy during the lamination process.

Dwindle now offers 3 Resin constructions: Resin 7, Resin 8 and Resin 9. The Resin 7 is the same lay up as our traditional 7 ply,

but has been increased in strength and also has a slight increase in stiffness. The Resin 8 (another  8 ply) has an additional wood

and epoxy layer, which again increases the strength even more and also increases the stiffness to a more noticeable  level . The

Resin 9 (or 9 ply) is the not your typical 9 ply deck. In the past, other 9 plys have been know as "the heavy and thick boards".

Our new Resin 9 deck is the thinnest 9 ply we have ever made and is far lighter than most 9 plys on the market. The results from

the 2 additional wood and epoxy layers is what  makes  the  Resin 9  an extremely durable skateboard deck. Even though the

Resin 9 is slightly lighter than our premium Armor Ply decks, the Resin 9 is right behind it in both strength and longevity. The

Resin 9 has significant increase in strength and is currently the stiffest of our "all wood" decks.

Dwindle decks in 2005 testing:

> 5 pcs - Enjoi Resin 7 decks
> 5 pcs - Almost Resin 8 decks
> 5 pcs - Darkstar Resin 9 decks
> 5 pcs - Darkstar Armor Ply decks

Message from Element:

In 1992 the Element seed was planted. Our goal was simple, to be the best we could be, in the most honest and ethical way

possible. We joined together to elevate what we all truly believe in. Today, we continue to create the art, direction and message

on a constant path to bring progress to skateboarding.  We are more than a business; we are a family, all on the same journey for

the growth with-in ourselves, Element and all that surrounds us.

Statement about Element's Fiberlite decks:
By defying the laws of nature, Fiberlight takes the original Featherlight construction to new heights. Fiberlight is a skateboard

construction designed to withstand intense abuse, yet react and perform beyond what is currently on the market. Fiberlight

provides an unparalleled response to the ollie. Fiberlight is lighter, thinner and manufactured to a higher standard of quality

and strength than any skateboard available today. Never before has wood and fiberglass been meshed together in this manner

of skateboard construction, providing what most don’t experience today: real pop, no sag and the flexibility to withstand abuse

with minimal breakage.

Fiberlight incorporates a fiberglass beam in the center of this 7 ply board which provides power for ollie tricks. This beam

provides tension when you pop the tail and transfers that energy into a higher ollie with more pop. The beam also acts like

a shock absorber when you land as it transfers energy throughout the board, which gives an even feel and helps prevent

breakage. Since the fiberglass beam does so much of the work, we were able to make the wood layers thinner, which makes

for an extremely light skateboard with more pop.

Thomes Canada Ltd. is a leading importer of Baltic birch products from Russia to North America.

Presently we are expanding our activities and would like to introduce a new product for the North American market - skateboard decks made from Russian Birch

 plywood.

Made from 8 plies of birch veneer that are glued together with a specially designed type of glue, our decks
are very strong and stable. Russian Birch as a raw material for skateboard manufacturing has very similar
features to plywood made of Canadian Maple. Our boards have been extensively tested in Russia, and we are
participating in this 2005 test in order to obtain an independent confirmation of their quality.

-         Manufacturer: Made in Russia

-         Material: Baltic Birch; all 8 plies are made of the hand selected quality
veneer: "B" Grade

Grade "B": Solid-piece surface has light and uniform color. Veneer of this
grade is intended for natural finishes. Patches are not allowed. The
majority of Grade B veneers are the equivalent of the American "white birch"
faces.

-         Type of glue: Urea glue, especially designed for skateboard manufacturing

-         Dimensions:

Length:795 mm (31.29)

Width:200 mm (7.87)

Distance between the wheels:353 mm (13.89)

Thickness:10 mm (0.39)

Number of plies:8

-         Grain direction of plies is the following:

1 Long
2 Long
3 Short
4 Long
5 Long
6 Short
7 Long
8 Long

The decks are intended for wholesale only. Our capacity is approx. 20000 decks per month.

We are a small woodshop thus far focused on providing decks on an individual basis locally. Generally we produce less than 100 boards a year with the bulk of our

sales coming from custom orders. Being a low volume manufacturer has disadvantages, however we feel that adversity promotes creativity. Through that mindset

comes our offering for 2005 and our desire to participate in this years test.

Hieratic short decks:

  • 11 ply Birch veneer
  • 9.5 mm thick
  • 2.6 lbs (7.5")
  • Medium concave
  • 5 std sizes

For a small company birch is easier and less costly to obtain than maple; it is also a slightly denser wood with a higher split resistance and similar grain pattern.

We use an 11 ply lay-up with 7 long grain and 4 cross grain pre-stressed veneers and an industry standard adhesive. Pre-stressing the veneer increases the tension

in the decks construction for added pop and better responsiveness. Decks are pressed one at a time to assure consistency and left to cure for 1 to 2 weeks prior to

shaping.

Other products in our line up this year include a unique Longboard. The deck incorporates a flexible poplar/spruce core sandwiched by 2 long grain and 2 cross

grain birch veneers and custom hardwood outer plies all laminated with epoxy. This deck comes all ready griped with a durable completely clear traction coating

and is available in 42" and 48" lengths.

I am excited to have some of our boards in this years test; it will be a valuable resource pointing out areas of weakness or poor construction that have otherwise

not surfaced.

While we hope to fair well amongst the other manufacturers our main goal is to learn more about the boards we ride and ways to improve them. In the near future

we plan to offer full OEM services for small shops and private labels, and a wider variety of alternative and composite decks.
